Team:Sydney Swans

[edit] Headline text

This page is the home page for the Sydney Swans Team. I will create a Special page describing what Teams are, but for now I'm going to use this page.

Teams will be the basic organisational structure of Footywiki. A Team is any group of people who work together to create articles related to a specific area. The most obvious area for Teams to focus on is clubs, and I'm hoping that we can get a Team started for each AFL club, at least, fairly quickly.

How Teams operate and how active they are is completely up to the members of that Team. Wikipedia has a similar concept called a WikiProject, and the Best Practices listed at [1] seem to apply equally well here, if you wish to follow them. You'll see that I've followed them on this page.

All Team pages must have "Team:Club_Name" as the title. If your club doesn't have a Team yet, you can start one, and direct people who you tell the site about to it. I'm hopeful that we can develop a template for Team pages, but that may have to wait a little while.

[edit] Scope and goals of the Team

The aim of this Team is to contribute, through collaborative and co-ordinated effort, articles relating to the Sydney Swans. This includes players, historical events, coaches, notable individuals, the Sydney_Swans club page and other potential articles relating to the club.

Further, the Team aims to collaborate with other Teams on certain articles. For instance, the St Kilda and Sydney Teams should collaborate on Tony Lockett.

[edit] To do list

Seed-post articles for current players, high-profile past players.

Seed-post the club article. This one will be big - it'll need collaboration between a few of us.
